 Day 1 | Paro Airport – Thimphu

The flight into Bhutan is one of a kind giving you a taste of the adventurous Bhutanese people taking you as close as u can ever get to the Himalayan mountain ranges. On arrival, you will be received by our guide from Yeedzin Tours and Treks drive to Paro town and visit local 9th century temple (kyichu lhakhang). Evening tea in a local restaurant and free time to walk around Paro town. Drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan and check into hotel. Dinner at hotel.

Visit National Library, Arts and crafts school, National Institute of Traditional Medicine (outside only), National Memorial Chorten that is both a memorial to the Late King (“the father of modern Bhutan”) and a monument to world peace, Tashichhodzong, Folk Heritage, National Textile Museums and Handicrafts Emporium. Dinner at hotel.

Day 3 | Departure

Early morning drive to Paro for flight from the Paro International Airport to onward destination

Day 1 | Paro Airport – Thimphu

Visit

National Library, Arts and crafts school, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, National Memorial Chorten (stupa) that is both a memorial to the Late King (“the father of modern Bhutan”) and a monument to world peace, Tashichhodzong, Folk Heritage, National Textile Museums and Handicrafts Emporium.

Day 3 | Paro sightseeing

Drive to Paro and hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest temple. Lunch in the cafeteria on the way back. After lunch hike back till the road and drive back to the hotel. On the way back to the hotel visit the national museum and the fortress of Paro. Evening back to hotel.

Day 3 | Thimphu – Punakha – Thimphu

After Breakfast drive to Punakha, the drive takes about 3 hrs on route crossing the Dochula pass. If we are lucky with the weather, we can see the entire Bhutanese Himalayas; east of Chomolhari to Gangkhar Puensum. On arrival in Punakha visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong Fortress, the winter seat of the Head Abbot built at the confluence of the two rivers pho chu n mochu. Drive to Wangdi town. Explore Wangdi town and visit Wangdi Dzong (fortress). Evening drive back to Thimphu.

Day 4 | Paro sightseeing

After breakfast drive to paro and hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest temple. Lunch in the cafeteria on the way back. After lunch hike back till the road and drive back to the hotel. On the way back to the hotel visit the national museum and the fortress of Paro. Evening back to hotel.

Day 4 |Thimphu – Paro

Visit Simtokha Dzong. This is one of the oldest fortresses in Bhutan. It also houses the largest monastic schools in the country. It was built in 1629 Ad. In afternoon the visit the National Museum (Ta-Dzong).
This was actually the Watch Tower of the Paro Rinchen Pong Dzong. It was converted into the National Museum in 1968. It is located on the top of a hill above the Paro Dzong overlooking Paro valley and the river. Visit Paro Rinchen Pong Dzong. This massive fortress is located in the Paro valley and is approached by a gently sloping flagstone road and a beautiful covered wooden bridge and guard houses. Today, the Dzong is the Administrative seat of the district of Paro and it also contains a state monastic community of about 200 monks. The central tower (Utse) of the Dzong, is one of the most beautiful in Bhutan with its superb woodwork. The Dzong was built in 1645 A.D.

Day 5 | Paro sightseeing

After breakfast drive to paro and hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest temple. Lunch in the cafeteria on the way back. After lunch hike back till the road and After lunch hike back till the road and drive to Drugyal Dzong, a ruined fortress. Although in ruins, this Dzong is of great historical importance. The peak of Mount Chomolhari “Abode of the Goddess Chomo” can be seen on a clear day (Alt. 7329m). On the way back visit Kichu Lhakhang & Dungtse Lhakhang.

Day 1: Paro (airport) – Thimphu 

BHUTAN:  The flight into Bhutan is one of a kind – giving you a taste of the adventurous Bhutanese people and taking you as close as you can ever get to the Himalayan mountain ranges.  Bhutan is a distinctly Tibetan culture nestled in the Himalayan Mountains.  It is a different world, but one that is very inviting and intriguing on arrival at the airport out guide will meet you and drive you to your hotel.

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing

You will visit the National Library, Arts and crafts school, National Institute of Traditional Medicine (outside only), National Memorial Chorten which is both a memorial to the Late King (“the father of modern Bhutan”) and a monument to world peace have lunch in a local restaurant  and in the afternoon visit Tashichhodzong, Folk Heritage, National Textile Museums and the Handicrafts Emporium and free time to walk around Thimphu town.

Day 3 | Thimphu – Punakha

Morning hike to Chery Monastery built in 17th century. After lunch we will drive you to Punakha, (about 3 hours).  Along the way we will be crossing the DochulaPass. If   the weather permits, we will be able to see the entire Bhutanese Himalayas; east of Chomolhari to Gangkhar Puensum.   This is truly a majestic sight.  Then you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 4:  Punakha  

You will take a morning visit to the magnificent Punakha Dzong Fortress, the winter seat of the Head Abbot built at the confluence of the two rivers, Pho Chu and Mochu.   Then you will drive to Wangdi town. You can explore Wangdi town and visit Wangdi Dzong (fortress). In the afternoon take a walk to the temple of the divine mad man, across rice fields and farms.

Overnight in Punakha | Altitude: 1300m  (B, L, D)

Day 5:  Punakha – Paro

After breakfast head to Paro, the drive will take about 4 hours and reach just in time for lunch. After lunch you will be driven to Drukgyel Dzong, enroot you will visit Kyichu Lhakhang (built by Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo in the 7th century). In the evening you walk around Paro town. You will have dinner and spend the night at a hotel in Paro.

Day 6: Paro sightseeing

MAJOR HIKE: You will take a morning hike up the hill to the famous Tiger’s NestTemple.  This gorgeous temple is literally “nested” high on a virtually sheer mountain side.  This hike requires good stamina but is not difficult as you can reach it by walking along paths and staircases.  (If you need to limit your walking you can rent a horse and guide who can take you about 2/3 up the hill).  You will have lunch in the cafeteria on the way back. After lunch you will hike back to the road and drive back to the hotel. This trip will take most of the day. You will then visit the National Museum and the Fortress of Paro.  Once you are finished at the museum and the fortress it will be evening and you will be driven back to your hotel.

Day 7:  Paro – (airport)

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to onward destination (B)

 Day 1 | Arrival Paro – Thimphu

Day 3 | Thimphu – Punakha

Day 5 | Thimphu – Paro

Visit the colorful weekend market n head to Paro. After lunch drive to Drukgyel Dzong, en-route visit to Kyichu Lhakhang (built by late a Tibetan King, in the 7th century). Evening tea at a local farm house and walk around Paro town.

Day 6 | Paro sightseeing

Morning hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest temple and have Lunch in the cafeteria on the way back. After lunch hike back till the road and drive back to the hotel. On the way back to the hotel visit the national museum and the Paro Dzong. Evening back to hotel.

Day 7 | Paro – Haa – Paro

Morning drive to Haa town, which was recently opened to foreigners, en-route cross Pelela pass one of the highest pass in Bhutanese road.  Enjoy the uniqueness of the recently opened town. After lunch drive back to Paro.

Day 8 | Departure

After an early Breakfast and drive to Paro International Airport for departure.

10 Days / 09 Nights 

 Day 1 | Paro – Thimphu

Day 2 | Thimphu

Today will be a full day sightseeing program of the Thimphu valley. National Library, Arts and crafts school, Folk Heritage National Memorial Chorten and National Textile Museum, Handicrafts Emporium, Post Office, Tashichhodzong.

Day 3 | Thimphu – Trongsa

After early breakfast, drive up to Dochu-la pass (3,088m) to get a view of the high Himalayan peaks towards the north east depending on the weather u may or may not see the entire mountain range. 
Stop at Wangduephodrang town for lunch, then continue on to Tongsa across Pele-la pass (3,300m), the traditional boundary between east and west. You will see a change in vegetation at this point, with mountain forest replaced by high altitude dwarf bamboo.
Stop en route at Chendebji Chorten,Arrive at Trongsa late afternoon and check into the lodge for the night.

Day 4 | Trongsa – Bumthang

After breakfast, walk by Trongsa Dzong, Ta Dzong.
Then drive to Bumthang, 68 km. from Tongsa, a journey of about 3 hours, over the Yutong-la pass (3,400m/11,155ft). 
On arrival in Bumthang, check in at your lodge.

Day 5 | Bumthang

After lunch, visit Kurje Lhakhang, Jambey Lhakhang (7th century), Tamshing Monastery and Jakar Dzong. 
Evening will be free to walk around the town and visit the local handicrafts shop.

 Day 6 | Bumthang – Punakha

After breakfast, explore the valley of Bumthang. Then proceed to Punakha, stopping along the way at Tongsa for lunch, which will be served in a local restaurant famous for its cuisine.
Visit Wangduephodrang Dzong and town en route to Punakha, which we will reach late afternoon.

Day 7 | Punakha – Paro

Morning visit to Punakha Dzong, a massive structure built at the junction of two rivers. The Dzong has withstood damage from fire, earthquake and flood over the centuries. After the Dzong, take a short hike across rice fields and head a temple of fertility dedicated to the divine mad. The have lunch and head for Paro, en-route Visit Simtokha Dzong. This is one of the oldest fortresses in Bhutan. It also houses the largest monastic schools in the country.

 Day 8 | Paro

Today visit the National Museum, and Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong), built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. A Drive to the highest Road Pass Pellela in Bhutan to have a scenic view of the mountain ranges.

 Day 9 | Paro

Hike to taktsang stopping for lunch at the cafeteria.
 After lunch, we drive up the valley to Drukgyel Dzong, built in 1647 by the Shabdrung to commemorate the Bhutanese victory over the Tibetans in the war of 1644. Also visit Kyichu Lhakhang, built in the 7th century by the Tibetan king, Songtsen Gampo.

After early breakfast in the hotel, drive to the airport for flight to  onward destination.
